We have confirmed that there is currently an issue where web threat protection suddenly becomes disabled.

This issue may occur if the "accessibility" features required to use the Web Threat Protection feature are no longer available from Virus Block.
We are continuing to investigate the cause of the inability to use the "Accessibility" feature.
If you are still experiencing issues after updating the app to the latest version, please check if the following steps resolve the issue.
1. Check the accessibility settings and turn them on. (If it's already on, turn it off and turn it on again)
2. Restart your device


■Countermeasures against unauthorized apps
Checks in real time when installing apps and monitors to prevent unauthorized apps from being installed. In addition, it is possible to detect and delete malicious files that exist in all storages on the device.

[Location information] About acquiring permissions
To enable the Wi-Fi safety check, you need to enable the [Location] permission.
The [Location information] permission is used to check the security of the Wi-Fi connection when using banking apps etc. over Wi-Fi.
This authority is not used to obtain location information such as GPS.
If you use banking apps etc. over Wi-Fi, we recommend enabling permissions.
Also, even if you do not enable the [Location information] permission, protection functions other than Wi-Fi safety check are enabled.

■App permission check
It determines the app's behavior and data communication destination, and issues a warning if there is a risk of personal information leakage.

■Web threat countermeasures
Blocks access to web threats such as phishing sites.
We have newly added the LINE app to support.

About using accessibility features
To use the following features in Virus Block, you must set permissions for Virus Block in the Accessibility settings.
・Used for anti-malicious apps to display app detection results on Android 10 or higher.
- Web Threat Protection and Web Filter can obtain URL information displayed in the browser app you are using, check URL reputation, and block unsafe URLs.

■Payment protection function
When using banking or shopping apps, you can check the safety of your device, communication environment, and apps to ensure safe online transactions.


In order to improve the functionality of Virus Buster for au and make it easier to use, we will change the app to a virus blocker.
Customers using the Virus Buster for au app can continue to use it by updating the virus block app, starting the virus block app, and agreeing to the terms of use.
*Registered data will be automatically carried over.


Virus Block protects your smartphone from fraudulent apps and dangerous websites, providing peace of mind.
This app can also be used by customers without au contracts.


*To use it, you need to install the au Smart Pass app and log in with your au ID.
*Please use the latest version of the au Smart Pass app downloaded from Google Play.
*If your smartphone's battery saver or power saving mode is turned on, you will not be able to use the app stably. Please turn it off before use.
*Customers using devices with Android OS 10 or later will need phone privileges for the au Smart Pass app.
From Settings → Apps & Notifications → Show All Apps → au Smart Pass → Permissions or Permissions → Phone, tap "Permissions".
(If a notification from au Smart Pass is displayed in the notification area at the top of the screen, you can also make the same settings from that notification.)


・In order to enable this application's "Web threat protection" on a Xiaomi device, the following operations are required.
Settings → Apps → Manage apps → Virus block → Other permissions → Display a pop-up window while running in the background, then tap "Agree".
・In order to bring the security of this app "Unauthorized App Countermeasure" to the latest state on your Xiaomi device, please press the "Update" button from the "Unauthorized App Countermeasure" menu to update manually.


Virus Block does not support the "split" function.
When displaying this application using the "split" function, some screens may not be displayed properly.


If you are using an Android 5 device, the web threat protection feature uses a VPN to block unsafe URLs in your browser. VPN is not used on Android 6 or above.
