About this ebook

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

The Eye of the World, the first novel in Robert Jordan's #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, follows Moiraine Damodred as she arrives in Emond's Field on a quest to find the one prophesized to stand against The Dark One.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

When a vicious band of half-men, half beasts invade the Two Rivers seeking their master’s enemy, Moiraine persuades Rand al’Thor and his friends to leave their home and enter a larger unimaginable world filled with dangers waiting in the shadows and in the light.

Robert Jordan excellently crafts a world unlike any other. He beautifully builds each and every character, while spinning a web of interconnected stories and plots that leave you hanging on every word. Pushing to reach the next page or chapter. I have been enjoying his books since I was a young boy, 20 years later and I still find love, joy, and excitement in every page. This Book starts you out with our beloved characters. Introducing them and then hurling them into the unknown. As you follow them through the hardships and scares of the adventure you are left with great pacing, until the end when the pacing ramps up. Taking off and escalating quickly, ending just as abruptly. But even with the flaws i have found no other Author or Book i enjoy more. Then this one and the others in the series!

Four stars comes only after reading more of the series. The first time you read it this book is amazing. The details are stunning, the plot is full of twists and turns galore, and the book ends leaving you wanting far more. You Follow Young Rand Al'Thor and his friends from the Two Rivers as they are pulled away from the small country life they have lived and loved for ages and follow them on a quest to the eye of the world. The book is magnificent because it does not follow the traditional story pattern the cast gets broken up, put back together and broken up again. There feels at times like their is enough in the way of plot for more than one book. In fact when looking back at the story I thought a good portion of what happens in this book had actually happened in later stories, if that gives you any idea how complex it is, but a stirring and great read. I highly suggest it if you like Tolkien's works, it has the same high amount of characters making a deep/extensive story with out quite as much descriptive setting work.

This book is a fantastic 750 page campaign setting as played by the most boring players imaginable. Eye of the World has a rich and deep setting full in interesting people who the protagonists avoid at all costs and the action is at its most tense when our heroes hurl insults at a friendly farmer. The four children from Two Rivers spend the whole book accidentally accidenting their way into mild adventures which do not affect them in any way and about which they have no opinion. The primary redeeming quality of this book is that the world is so much fun to think about. Robert Jordan describes many interesting people, places, and conflicts. I just wish the book had been about those instead of four personality-free teenagers.
