THIS IS WONDERFUL READING THAT PUTS YOU BACK IN TIME TO WHERE OUR ANCESTORS ONCE WERE, WHEREBY U HAVE A DIRECT FEEL FOR WHAT SLAVERY WAS ONCE LIKE. THE AUTHOR REALLY IS DESCRIPTIVE IN HIS ACCOUNT FOR WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE. I APPRECIATE A GREAT BOOK!! GOD BLESS!!!

My journey in taking on a genealogy project for my family has been emotionally daunting. This narrative aided me in my familial research, but the blood in my veins cries even louder. I will continue to work diligently and rear my children in a way that would be beyond pleasing to my ancestors. Although this phenomenonal woman has departed this life, I will uphold her story in my memory for all the days of my life.

I could not put this book down once I started reading. It is 2008 and I know that prejudice against blacks, hispanics, indians and more are alive and well. This story is inspiring.
