Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One and Two (Special Rehearsal Edition)

Het lang verwachte vervolg op the deathly hallows is een verhaal waar vele fans al jaren op wachten. We komen er achter hoe het verder ging met Harry, Hermoine en Ron. Maar ook leren de nieuwe generatie kennen vooral Albus Potter en Scorpius Malfoy. Deze twee jongens ontmoeten Delphi het nichtje van Cedric Digory. Het verhaal verteld heel mooi hoe Harry Potter worstelt met het vaderschap omdat hij zelfs nooit zijn vader heeft gekend. Maar ook krijgen wij te maken met Albus terwijl hij uit de schaduw van zijn vader probeert te stappen. Er ontstaat een sterke vriendschap tussen Albus en Scorpius. Een vriendschap die lijkt op die van Ron en Harry. Samen maken zij een fout die de wereld die zij kennen voor altijd kunnen veranderen. Het is een geweldig verhaal dat alle elementen van de oude serie raakt. Ik kreeg een nostalgisch gevoel iedere pagina die ik las. Het gebruik van oude scenes uit de oude boeken liet het voelen alsof ik met een Time Turner terug in de tijd ging. Ik vond het jammer dat de andere kinderen minder sterk uit de verf zijn gekomen. The Cursed Child is een waardige opvolger. Zeker een must read.

A very unfortunate addition to a revered series. I'm not sure exactly how much of Rowling went into this script, but it's diabolical either way. The plot is absurd and runs contrary to established Potter lore, and the characters were knew and really cared about seem to do total personality 180s. Sadly, they're bound to just make another movie (or two!) out of this mess and the Harry Potter series will forever have it's own 'Phantom Menace'.

Here's a list of bad thinfs about the cursed child: its not quite the same as all the other harry potter books, it doesn't have the same JK Rowling touch to it; beatrix said she would give up her chils for the dark lord, but the augery remained hidden (i think i would have remembered having a child); George is gone and nothing's said about it; characters Changed too much, even for 19 years; script form is rubbish, books are way more expressive. This is why the cursed child won't be the best in the series
