About this ebook

A New York Times bestseller, My Struggle: Book 1 introduces American readers to the audacious, addictive, and profoundly surprising international literary sensation that is the provocative and brilliant six-volume autobiographical novel by Karl Ove Knausgaard.

It has already been anointed a Proustian masterpiece and is the rare work of dazzling literary originality that is intensely, irresistibly readable. Unafraid of the big issues—death, love, art, fear—and yet committed to the intimate details of life as it is lived, My Struggle is an essential work of contemporary literature.

I entered a library and saw all 6 books, I grabbed this one and read the summary on the back. It grabbed my attention right away and so I started reading it. After 5 months I finished it ('cause I took it really slow) it's not an easy read. His life is told in a such descriptive way that you can lose yourself at times. He goes back and forth on time, which is cool but that throws you out for a moment. There are so many passages that are really well narrated, but others that in my opinion didn't added anything to the story. The way he expresses himself is just delicious. It's like a friend is telling you his story, very personal, very engaging and very descriptive. I will read the 2nd book.
