"From Poverty to Power" is one of the most mentally helpful books I have ever come across. James Allen (1864-to early 1912), dying at 47, has left an inheritance that every student should be informed of and persuaded to read. It matters not if you are of a religious mind, or a secular atheist. James Allen wrote against neither. His honest thinking stands out.
As an introduction to James Allen, "As A Man Thinketh", his most popular book world-wide, would be an excellent start. It is much shorter. All of his books are in plain language. We who speak English are the lucky ones to get his original words.
Do not accept versions of "co-authors" who were persuaded enough by James to go on their own disertations. They have good intentions.
This man has left a tremendous inheritance for the world in 20 books written in his last ten (10) years. He is one of the world's best kept secrets. I am not overstating this.

Though I disagreed with some of the spiritual issues, the premise that people can be victims or learners is great. Many more people need to read this.
