Loved the book. Villains didn't leave an impression as I thought "The Engineers" could. That said, loved the continuing dynaminc between Sam and Briggs. As a special treat, seeing Kobin and ****rel was the best part for me. Something for first timers and veterans to the series.

Since I cannot put 4.5 stars, I will put 4 for this one. Overall, I really enjoyed reading it. However, this is another case where you only fully enjoy the story if you know enough context. In this book, you should at least play (or read) Splinter Cell Conviction to make enough sense of the story. I have not played the game Splinter Cell Blacklist but that did not pose any problem. However, I would have been quite lost if I did not play Conviction. The story is certainly worth 5 stars, but I do find it regrettable that the last chapter, the very last few pages were disappointing. It felt like it rushed, like the author wanted to get it out of the way. The chapter was a weird epilogue, which could be either predictable or just plain. Unfortunately, this is the last impression that stays in mind, hence only 4.5 stars. Worth saying again that until the very last pages, the rest was great.
