In this beautifully illustrated offering of ancient wisdom, Deng Ming-Dao shares the secrets of the spiritual path handed down to him by Kwan Saihung, his Taoist master, as well as by herbalists, martial artists, and other practitioners of the ancient arts. As the title suggests, 'Scholar Warrior' aims to help readers achieve a life of balance. The author likewise achieves a splendid balance in the book between matters physical, practical and mystical. Readers unfamiliar with the culture and history of philosophical Taoism will find here an elegant practical introduction free of arcana. Recommended.
