About this ebook

The Mis-Education of the Negro is one of the most important books on education ever written. Carter G. Woodson shows us the weakness of Euro-centric based curriculums that fail to include African American history and culture. This system mis-educates the African American student, failing to prepare them for success and to give them an adequate sense of who they are within the system that they must live. Woodson provides many strong solutions to the problems he identifies. A must-read for anyone working in the education field.

I got a lot out of this 113 page book. 2017 we can still see how messed up our school systems are. I live in Illinois. The schools in the African American nieghborhoods don't get their culture taught to them. They have closed Most of the schools on the Southside of Chicago. When will it change, when will we receive African American Teachers in our African American Schools.

This book is amazing. The subject matter is still prevalent in 2014. There is no need to be angry. The reader should be INSPIRED. It's pretty sad that 81 years later, we've made such little progress. A great read.

This book has opened my eyes up to a bunch of things that I was not aware of before now. Nonetheless, it basically answered all of my questions that I was curious about from my past younger days that I was too embarrassed to share and talk to others about. I even highlighted a few references. This book is going to be read over and over again.
