About this ebook

What if you found out you had an internal guidance system, a higher consciousness inside that could offer perfect guidance and help you make the best possible life choices? Would you follow that guidance, even if you didn't like it? That is the quandary facing our heroine in this action-packed YA story. The Girl With the Half and Half Face serves up a smoking dose of romance, adventure, danger and fun. With a strong female protagonist, a dystopian setting, and sexy twin brothers, readers will be taken on a journey they won't soon forget. She's been trained to follow where her Core leads.
Until it leads her away from everything she's ever known . . . into mortal danger.

Eighteen-year-old Kayli-el discovers she is part of a new species evolving on her planet, with a powerful internal guidance called the Core. After her teacher is murdered for its secrets, Kayli-el runs for her life - right into the arms of Tamber, a boy who's crossed the ocean on a mysterious quest to find . . . her!

But the same killers who murdered her teacher have captured her best friend Serene. Kayli-el faces a choice with potentially deadly consequences: follow her Core's wisdom and flee to safety across the ocean with Tamber, or defy her own guidance to save her best friend's life.

About the author

Leslie Miller grew up on a steady diet of Dr. Seuss until graduating to Nancy Drew. She is still on the lookout for wacky words and important clues, even to this day. The Girl With the Half and Half Face is her first novel.

Leslie lives near Denver, Colorado where she works as a ghostwriter and developmental editor by day, novelist by night, and watercolor artist whenever she has time. An incurable bookworm growing up, Leslie is surprised it took her so many years to start writing her own stories.
Leslie loves color and believes it can be incorporated into her writing as vividly as it is in her paintings. A native New Yorker, Leslie worked in NY's fashion industry as a dress patternmaker. She says, "You can take the girl out of fashion, but you can never take the fashion out of the girl."
Leslie's novels incorporate her sense of whimsy and adventure. She hopes to take readers on a journey they won't soon forget. In her spare time, she paints watercolors, tramples merrily through thrift shops, binge-watches Shark Tank, and loudly out-sings contestants on The Voice.
