About the author

Gillian is a programme leader for FdSc in Healthcare Practice at a large college in the North East of England; Gillian has extensive experience of the healthcare sector having been a qualified nurse, and then managed a large residential care facility, lecturing at Plymouth University and Newcastle College. Gillian also delivered mental health training to military and public services personal. Gillian has engaged with the local health community delivering clinical skills training as part of the Governments 'Preventing unnecessary admissions' initiative. Gillian is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
