About this ebook

“There’s nothing semi about Finn Murphy’s trucking tales of The Long Haul.”—Sloane Crosley, Vanity Fair More than thirty years ago, Finn Murphy dropped out of college to become a long-haul trucker. Since then he’s covered more than a million miles as a mover, packing, loading, hauling people’s belongings all over America. In The Long Haul, Murphy recounts with wit, candor, and charm the America he has seen change over the decades and the poignant, funny, and often haunting stories of the people he encounters on the job.

This is an excellent book! Well-written, interesting, and chock-full of information about a way of working and living that few of us have experienced first hand. I couldn't put it down.... The author is/was a trucker, a specialist in moving, specifically doing corporate moves. In trucker argot, he was a "Bed bugger". He sounds like someone I'd like to know. The author has an amazing amount of insight about his own psychology, and that of others. It's always interesting to hear from a "top gun" in any profession, as they look back on their career. I think you will enjoy this book.

Exactly what it is. A collection of anecdotes from a seasoned trucker. Light hearted, mostly funny, and dude must always be within arms reach of a thesaurus. Enjoyed. I'd like to know more about what happened in his 25 year hiatus though. There's GOTTA be a few stories in there!

The story grabbed me and wouldn't let me go! I felt caught as though I was actually there. Great work!
