About this ebook

For the first time as an Orbit special edition, Brent Weeks's blockbuster novella Perfect Shadow tells the origin story of the Night Angel trilogy's most enigmatic character: Durzo Blint. Also includes the short story, I, Nightangel.

Gaelan Starfire is a farmer, happy to be a husband and a father; a careful, quiet, simple man. He's also an immortal, peerless in the arts of war. Over the centuries, he's worn many faces to hide his gift, but he is a man ill-fit for obscurity, and all too often he's become a hero, his very names passing into legend: Acaelus Thorne, Yric the Black, Hrothan Steelbender, Tal Drakkan, Rebus Nimble.
But when Gaelan must take a job hunting down the world's finest assassins for the beautiful courtesan-and-crimelord Gwinvere Kirena, what he finds may destroy everything he's ever believed in.

I was personally expecting a first hand account of Durzo's life, just an overview at least. When I find out this is maybe a week at most of his life when he first works for the shinga. That and no matter how many times I read it, it seemed to have randomly placed memories in there, leaving you only with a bare minimum of what exactly happened to Durzo in the past, with a lack of having any real meaning on what's going on in the present. I give it a 2/5 due to my love for the Night Angel.

One of the pains of reading such a great series of books is finding yourself wanting more when you've reached the last line. The Night Angel trilogy is by far the best series I have read for its depth and raw intricacy, it is truly a marvel and The Perfect Shadow was no different. The most difficult part is hoping to find another read that can live up to a work such as this.

Loved the night angel series and the light bringer series (waiting for book 4) but this "novella" is too short and it just ends for no reason. I flipped a page expecting the next page and it was the end. If you're looking for back story on durzo blint look else where. There is so little here is extremely disappointing. there is less info in this then a typical chapter in the series. I can't help but feel like these 5* reviews are bought our friend posting about the series which had no bearing on this short
