HHGTTG is a great book full of humor and insightful remarks about how insignificant we all are, but that life is still amazing. However, the sequels are slightly less enjoyable making HHGTTG the high point. Adams' writing style and humor are arguably masterful in that there's rarely a joke that feels hamfisted. Also, for a series of books where absurdity is the norm and the normal is absurd, Adams keeps his universe believably unbelievable. Read HHGTTG, take or leave the rest.

I purchased this book over a month ago and recently it disappeared from my library. It still gives me the option to read but the link is down. I searched the play store and found another link selling the exact same book, but its making me purchase it again. what gives?

Although I love Adams' quirky, no-holds-barred writing style, sometimes it would be nice to have more of a plot within the fluff.
About the author
Douglas Adams was born in 1952 and created all the various and contradictory manifestations of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: radio, novels, TV, computer games, stage adaptations, comic book, and bath towel. He was born in Cambridge and lived with his wife and daughter in Islington, London, before moving to Santa Barbara, California, where he died suddenly in 2001.
