If you're a die hard A's fan, you'll find deeper insights into the team and traditions that you love. If you're a new or casual A's fan, you'll be treated to a wealth of stories and legacies that you may not be aware of. Susan Slusser has become a crucial member of the A's history over her 17 years of covering them for the SF Chronicle and this book perfectly illustrates why. Thoroughly researched and covering the entire history of one of baseball's most storied franchises, Slusser has left no stone unturned and will truly entertain and inform. A must read for A's fans and baseball historians.
About the author
Susan Slusser has been the San Francisco Chronicle's Oakland A's beat writer for 16 seasons. She is an MLB Network correspondent and is a former president of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. She lives in San Carlos, California. Billy Beane is the general manager and minority owner of the Oakland Athletics. He was named the Sporting News' Executive of the Year in 1999 and 2012, and the Baseball America Major League Baseball Executive of the Year in 2002 and 2013. He lives in the Bay Area.
