David Kinnaman’s book unChristian offers a rare glimpse at Christianity through the eyes of non-Christians. The book contains countless amounts of polls, studies, and research all compiled together about how the rest of the world perceives Christians. The results, however, are not pretty. According to the book, non-believers commonly view Christians as hypocritical, insensitive, old-fashioned, anti-homosexual, judgmental, too political, unloving, and boring. The book’s findings are surprisingly almost all negative towards Christians in nearly every aspect of life. The most apparent issue that unChristian reveals is how poorly Christians treat others. Obviously, the findings in unChristian do not match up with the teachings of Jesus and His desires for the way His followers should live. This book with all of its disturbing facts and findings was a real eye-opener for me. It caused me to evaluate my own faith and to encourage other Christians to do the same with theirs. I would strongly recommend this book to every Christian. Unfortunately, I do not think this book has very much value to non-Christians, but it would still be interesting to see whether or not they agree with the book’s conclusions.

This book can initially seem dreadful to read but when I got into it I could not put it down. Yes the views are conservative but that is what should be anticipated. The statistics frightening to me, what is happening to our country. We have spent to much time seperating separating church and state and not letting the people so what they feel is best and this book shows those results.
