About this ebook

Over the course of his 60 years, Christopher Hitchens has been a citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom. He has been both a socialist opposed to the war in Vietnam and a supporter of the U.S. war against Islamic extremism in Iraq. He has been both a foreign correspondent in some of the world's most dangerous places and a legendary bon vivant with an unquenchable thirst for alcohol and literature. He is a fervent atheist, raised as a Christian, by a mother whose Jewish heritage was not revealed to him until her suicide.

In other words, Christopher Hitchens contains multitudes. He sees all sides of an argument. And he believes the personal is political.

This is the story of his life, lived large.

Brutally honest and extremely deep and revealing. A must read for anyone interested in atheism or the insights of one of the great literary minds of the past 40 odd years or in memoirs in general. Hell, just read it. If you're here reading this it's almost a certainty you're interested in books, and any book lover owes it to themselves to read this fantastic memoir. It's truly brilliant. I admire Christopher Hitchens very much, and this book is a fantastic memoir. Had me laughing, crying and really thinking a lot. That is what I love about Hitchens' writing. It was tough at times to follow his allusions, but it isn't enough to keep anybody from enjoying his writing.
