Why is it as kind for a debit/credit card if its free? Google should pay attention to get this fixed. I don't recommend anyone to give details for any non financial details. You should not trust anyone, even Google if they are over seeing such activities. This has been highlighted by users in almost all free book comments section. It is logical not to pay for free, doesn't matter whether it is Google or apple, or even if money charged is refundable. We r not slaves. We have right to reject such activity and just can't slip in because "apple" or "Google" does it, they are vendors serving us and not our masters. They also need us...

I wanted to read this book but I declined to enter any credit/debit card info. This is like those ads that want to send you free samples but ask you to pay shipping and handling charges. That is not free to me. Neither is this book. If it is free why do they need my info? I will leave it on my wishlist until I can get it without financial info used to get it.

Clearly people don't understand how the Play Store works. Free 'purchases' still require a Google Wallet account. It's standard e-commerce practice and NOT a scam. The first time you add a card to your account, it's verified by charging $1 which is then refunded. Paypal and many other online payment systems use the same method. If you want free stuff, spend 30 second setting up your account and stop complaining.
