I read this book for one of my college classes, and didn't expect to like
it much. I was wrong. I loved every moment of this book, and was captivated
through the entirety of its emotional rollercoaster. Highly recommend!

This is good story. The point of it seemed to change a couple of times. I thought it was about Spanish speaking people in America. Then it seemed to sort of become a cautionary tale. After I was finished it seemed to be a story about just how hard and unexpected life can be.

CRISTINA HENRÍQUEZ is the author of the story collection Come Together, Fall Apart, which was a New York Times Editors’ Choice selection, and the novel The World in Half. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The American Scholar, Glimmer Train, Virginia Quarterly Review, Ploughshares, TriQuarterly, AGNI, and Oxford American, as well as in various anthologies. She lives in Illinois.
