Lovers of true science fiction get a full dose of everything that defines the genre right here. While there is enough action to keep the nature of Gibson's volatile world on knife's edge, don't expect a vanilla flavoured slam-bang shoot em up here, as Neuromancer is about so much more. Time spent developing all manner of intricacies within this work - encompassing character, plot, concept and setting - become as inspiring as they are inspired. Classic science fiction at it's finest.

The book was a bit thick with the style of a 1930's private detective style book to begin with. Awash with cliché. But once I pushed past that, and my opinions, the story built up nicely and kept a good pace. Perhaps reading it this side of films like The Matrix, and the like, isn't the same as reading it back when it was first published.

Too much of a mind trip, ironically. Takes a lot to understand the flow of dialogue and feels like hard work to follow. It's unique and insightful, but I found myself going back a page too often to re-read after I realised I was losing focus.
