I also feel that the battles were too long and there should have been more focus on the interaction and characters. I wanted a bit more closure on the characters that I grew to love. As far as the events, most of those were resolved acceptably, but only about half the book was pushi ng the plot forward in an exciting/involving way.

This book does exactly what its suppose to do. It wraps up all the characters and plot lines in an entertaining and plausible manner. I have two gripes. Much of the action is glossed over in a very un-Jordan like manner and Matt's humor is not subtle enough for the seriousness of the book. Still a great read and the efforts of Mr. Sanderson should be applauded. It may be awhile before I can read fiction again as I will need time to morn the ending of this series that has so defined my literary life.

As I would have expected of the concluding novel of the Wheel of Time series, the book thoroughly entertained. It also, much like other books in the series, carried with it a number if surprises -- though not all surprises are good ones (I won't spoil the book by going into detail) which is why I can't give it all the stars. Overall, though, the book was excellent and well worth reading.
About the author
ROBERT JORDAN (1948-2007) is best known for his internationally bestselling epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time®, which has sold over 40 million copies in North America and is currently being adapted for the screen. A native of Charleston, Jordan graduated from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a degree in physics. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and received multiple decorations for his service.
BRANDON SANDERSON grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He lives in Utah with his wife and children and teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University. He is the author of such bestsellers as the Mistborn® trilogy and its sequels, The Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, and The Bands of Mourning; the Stormlight Archive novels The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, and Oathbringer; and other novels, including The Rithmatist and Steelheart. In 2013, he won a Hugo Award for Best Novella for The Emperor's Soul, set in the world of his acclaimed first novel, Elantris. Additionally, he was chosen to complete Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time® sequence.
