Told from alternating first person points of view (Gideon and Eva) CAPTIVATED BY YOU follows immediately on the events of book 3-Entwined With You. If you have not read the series, be aware there may be some spoilers in my review. The series must be read in order for cohesion and understanding. The entire series, to date, covers but a few months in real time. The storyline focuses on the continuing relationship between Eva and Gideon-two broken and wounded souls whose earlier years were destroyed by betrayal and abuse. Secretly married in an island ceremony, our couple returns to civilization where revealing their ‘engagement’ is anything but a happily ever after. Events will set into motion a destructive path that may be too difficult to overcome. CAPTIVATED BY YOU will see secrets revealed, heartbreak and betrayal for one family when the past comes crashing down. Eva and Gideon’s relationship is as destructive and unhealthy as it is strong. Gideon’s need to protect and control forces an ultimatum from Eva that will shatter all semblance of Gideon’s self discipline. He is a man possessed; haunted by his past; and broken by the demons who continue to destroy his soul. The chaos that ensues finds Eva and Gideon on the verge of sabotaging their own relationship-one ex at a time. Eva is Gideon’s weakness, his strength and his heart. Eva continues to push Gideon’s buttons; and they equally manipulate one another’s emotional fragility and strengths. We will revisit with Cary’s love triangle of Trey and Tatiana although there is very little closure for Cary or the reader. Gideon’s dysfunctional family dynamics is a major stumbling block in Gideon’s recovery and some issues of the past will be confronted. Brett Kline remains a point of contention between Eva and Gideon-one that is slowly tearing away at Gideon’s control. And some questions will be answered as to the who, what and how. CAPTIVATED BY YOU is an intensely personal and in depth storyline. The sex scenes are numerous, aggressive, continuous and erotic. As Gideon begins to lose control in his personal life he sets into motion a diverging set of controls in the bedroom. A different and previously unaddressed side of Gideon will emerge. Sylvia Day’s CROSSFIRE series and CAPTIVATED BY YOU is a compelling read. There are moments of intimacy, seduction, arousal and love juxtaposed with heartbreaking betrayal, painful confessions and destructive realizations. Eva and Gideon’s relationship is intensely seductive and alarmingly toxic to everyone and themselves.

I am an avid reader. I love nothing more than a good book..A great series....Even better! On that note, i have to say that i have never been so frustrated with an Author bfore Sylvia Day. She starts out by enticing readers with a trilogy. Much like Fifty Shades of Grey. Somewhere along the way she falls flat..There was so much possibility to make these books amazing. Delvenjust a bit deeper into your interesting characters.. Dont just fill the pages with mind boggling sex that is pretty much the same over and over.. it took too much away from your great characters. I ended up invested and pretty much enjoying your characters that I purchase the 4th book.. I have to tell you Ms. Day that i was furious when book 4 ended with out the end of the story orba resolution. Now we have to wait for book 5 to find out the rest of the stories.. you made book 4 short and I feel like you are milking this set of books for everything you can get! I'm dying and I would like to finish this series before I am gone!

I must say I was sooooooo disappointed with this book. I waited forever to get to it, and when I finally got it it took me forever to muster up enough patience to even get through it. It was so dry and un-entertaining. It was written poorly, over sappy and so cliche...it was almost like reading a 50 Shades of Grey Book, and everyone knows although those books are intriguing, they are so poorly written that it is hard to stay interested. I love the Crossfire Series, but Captivated by you was such a letdown...it was dragged out and everything was left open en ded and I dont even want to buy the next book because this was so disappointing. Never thought that I would only be giving this book one star..but :( ComeOn Sylvia, pull it together. Everyone knows how much Gideon and Eva adore each other, it was fine for her to talk about his Hottness 100 times in the first few books, but now it is just annoying, cut all the sappy sex scenes and get back to the riveting storylines and ongoing surprises and drama. I was so disappointed about Megumi, might as well just kept her out of the book. I however, so like the 2 viewpoints that the book is told from, Gideon's perspective is interesting
