About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Low-level entertainment lawyer Nick Carter thinks it’s a prank, not an alien encounter, when a redheaded mullah and a curvaceous nun show up at his office. But Frampton and Carly are highly advanced (if bumbling) extraterrestrials. The entire cosmos, they tell him, has been hopelessly hooked on American pop songs ever since “Year Zero” (1977 to us), resulting in the biggest copyright violation since the Big Bang and bankrupting the whole universe. Nick has just been tapped to clean up this mess before things get ugly. Thankfully, this unlikely galaxy-hopping hero does know a thing or two about copyright law. Now, with Carly and Frampton as his guides, Nick has forty-eight hours to save humanity—while hoping to wow the hot girl who lives down the hall from him.

This is Science fiction at the most believable since Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. I was glued to the story and loved the characters. It even answers many of the everyday issues we have in our modern lives in a new and zany way. I am so glad I bought it so I can read it again, and again,....and probably again. Make time for this story and download the playlists (at the end of the book). I could almost see the characters and would love to spend more time with pretty much all of them. I have already recommended this book to my family and friends and will probably be going on about it to anyone who will listen for ages..

A wild ride that I thoroughly enjoyed, end notes and all. Rob Reid did an excellent job poking fun at the music industry and the ridiculousness of current copyright law. It was well paced. It was funny. It was a good length (so many books today are overly long). I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes SF, music and wants a good laugh. If you like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy you'll like this. The eBook was formatted well with no obvious errors.

Overall, I enjoyed this read. It was an interesting story told with a consistent voice. I never laughed out loud but I knew it wouldn't be that kind of book after the free sample. The book is definitely and obviously written with an agenda in mind. If you already align with it, you'll probably enjoy it more than I did.
