About this ebook

The crew of the spaceship Nostromo is awakened from cryogenic sleep to investigate a mysterious alien transmission. On a nearby planet they discover a derelict craft, and a chamber filled with eggs... thousands of them, stretching as far as the eye can see. When they return, they bring with them a creature that will teach them the true meaning of fear. For as long as they survive. This groundbreaking adaptation by science fiction master Alan Dean Foster captures the action and sheer terror of the film, transferring it to the printed page and setting a standard that still exists today.

I'm trying to get into reading books. Alien was the first book I've fully read. I picked this book on watching the film and enjoying it as a sci-fy horror. The book is pretty good and reminded me of the film. It was a little more detailed and made you imagine good, the surroundings and descriptions of the characters & ship etc. The ship i feel like they left out describing it that well so I only imagined the ship as the one i'd seen in the film. The Alien I thought wasn't very well described as it didnt make me think of the Alien as it looks in the film with its long head and teeth with the tongue etc. It was still an enjoyable read which I've been struggling in the past to do or get time to do. I recommend this book to help start you off and if you enjoy the Alien films etc. Cheers! Sean.

At only 184 pages it's way over priced to begin with. I read this book many years ago so wanted to read it again. Wish I hadn't! It's really not very good. It's one of those rare occasions where the movie is better than the book.

I first read this book when I was 9. I hardly could sleep for weeks. It's a great book. I highly recommend it! (Not for sensitive kids)
