About this ebook

Meet Dexter Morgan, a polite wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s handsome and charming, but something in his past has made him abide by a different set of rules. He’s a serial killer whose one golden rule makes him immensely likeable: he only kills bad people. The Killer Character That Inspired the Hit Showtime Series Dexter

And his job as a blood splatter expert for the Miami police department puts him in the perfect position to identify his victims. But when a series of brutal murders bearing a striking similarity to his own style start turning up, Dexter is caught between being flattered and being frightened–of himself or some other fiend.

I didn't much care for Dexter's voice, and as most of the book is 1st person voice over, that led to some issues. He called himself charming but I only found him to be awkward. Don't know if that's the writing or unreliable narrator. Most of the plot seemed to be propelled by dreams and luck. I don't mind the dreams in some stories, but in a crime mystery novel, I'd like some actual sleuthing done.

I watched the show and was a little put off because I thought the book would be the same and I was very happily wrong. Its a good ready even if you watched the show, and if you haven't its still a great book.

I enjoyed the beginning of the book and was excited to see how the original Dexter would be... but in the end, the show's plot was 100% more engaging.
