About this ebook

An original short story about Jack Reacher, available exclusively as a separate ebook (also included in the new complete Reacher story collection No Middle Name).

Early in his military career, Jack Reacher is ordered undercover in Washington, to discover which one of four women, all staff officers on fast track careers, is leaking secrets.

The suggested method: get close to each in turn.

The obvious problem: the most receptive will be the guilty one, with an agenda of her own ... to kill the investigation - and the investigator.

‘Child has somehow forged that magical grail: a new and believable hero... when we thought all the heroes had been written.’ Observer

This is a very short Jack Reacher story. I read it while waiting for a doctors appointment. Can't say that I particularly liked it. Found it a bit boring. But, it's like any book, short or long, you never know until you start reading. Reacher, of course, picks out the bad guy, though in this case it's a woman and it wouldn't be a Jack Reacher story without him showing some brute force.

Well written - as we have come to expect from Lee Child. But sadly his short stories are woefully over priced. For example, this one was $3 for 24 "pages" - that is about 70ish mobile phone pages.

NEVER OH NEVER - Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher - NO. A pint can never come near to being a quart pot no matter how many boxes he stands on to gain the height! Needs a Tommy Lee Jones or similar but someone believable.
