I decided to read animal farm not knowing what to expect, and when I finished it all I could do was reflect on how loved this book. Many of the negative reviews are either school children believing it as a waste of time and people calling it boring. Animal farm is a book of thinking not action and its short length is able to sum up everything very nicely in revealing the flaws of communism. 5/5 stars

Despite Animal Farm being a great, classic read, this version of the book is full of typos. There aren't any quotation marks or apostrophes anywhere, and you'll find tons of sentences with errors such as: "AndI was a long way away, but I am almost certain I saw thishe was talking to you [...]" I am not sure if there are any better versions in this store but this one is certainly not of high quality. It is much easier to find a PDF of this book on Google (the first result of searching "Animal Farm PDF" should be adequate).

An insightful and poignant read for any even mildly dissatisfied with the rule of late-stage capitalism (or those who live in countries under other forms of "privileged few" systems). A clearly-expressed and concise analysis of how even the best intentions can become corrupted by the greed and selfishness of the 1%, who benefit from the subjugation of the masses. Quite on-the-nose in its allegory, however I see that as necessary to illustrate complex socio-political paths in an easily digestable way. I think that everyone should read this piece. It's an effective and comprehensible illustration of corrupt governments and corporate greed; especially in regards to how those in power slowly amp up their own privileges more and more. Frustrating to read at times. Not because it's poorly-written, but because it's so accurate to the historical unfairness ever-present in our society.

About the author

ERIC ARTHUR BLAIR (1903–1950), better known by his pen name George Orwell, was an English author and journalist whose best-known works include the dystopian novel 1984 and the satirical novella Animal Farm. He is consistently ranked among the best English writers of the 20th century, and his writing has had a huge, lasting influence on contemporary culture. Several of his coined words have since entered the English language, and the word "Orwellian" is now used to describe totalitarian or authoritarian social practices.
