same problem as other users. it shows a Boingo WiFi available, but when you try to connect it says: "We weren't able to connect". This was in Zurich Airport, and main train station. I've only been able to connect to a wifi once using this app, but then it said there was no internet. But when it's installed it's the app that uses the most power for the day.

the app is able to connect less than 5% of the time when i am in range of a published partner wifi spot. its primary function appears to be telling me that i am connected to the internet via wireless and takes credit for a connection it has not helped establish. typically i abandon the app and try to connect directly to the wifi partner by selecting roaming/boingo and logging in directly. this is successful less than 50% of the time as the partner/boingo verification fails frequently.

Not many hotspots in Canada, some don't exist even though listed in the app. As for the service, in Calgary Boingo piggybacks on TELUS's Passpoint wifi hotspots using the Hotspot 2.0 protocol. This means you have to download a certificate from Boingo and install it on your smartphone. The certificate worked on my Google Pixel 4 but did not work with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. Very slow speeds. I've read that Boingo works on WestJet flights that have wifi service so that might be useful.
