On Samsung S9 the app continually crashes after opening then backing out of a story. This did not occur prior to channel 4 going to First Alert. It also has more pop up adds. The continual crash and reopen and excess adds are annoying. I will probably switch to using one of the other local news station apps or internet. For me this has been a buggy app.

Intrusive Ads that look like legit scan. Lately I've been seeing the normal ads but then all the sudden when I'm reading something. There are these intrusive ads that look like they are an antivirus scanning my phone and I know it's not. So I have to hurry up and close the app and make sure I'm not clicking anything.

Previous iteration of the app was far superior. Much easier to get to the news and especially navigation of weather. I understand the need for advertising but the level of click bait and embedded advertising is horrendous. The app went from practical to useless with the refresh. The UX designer on this either was told they didn't have a say or didn't get customer input on the beta.
