About this app

Text Reader is a fast and compact utility for comfortable text reading. Key features are: FB2, RTF, HTML, TXT formats support; reading from ZIP-archives; saving last read position; smooth scroll through pages; view files from arbitrary position; a lot of encodings; custom fonts support; customized color themes; text search.

The program works with text file formats only. If you see unreadable characters on the screen, then either you have opened a non-text file, or do not have chosen the correct character encoding.

You can flip through pages of the text by tapping the top or bottom of the screen. Text position can be adjusted by pressing in the middle of the screen.

To remove some items from the history list, you can use a long press on the corresponding element.

Use volume keys to adjust the screen brightness.

Very cool app! The user interface using the back button is very effective. I like it after getting familiar with it. Also allows editing text files. Unfortunately, with the latest version, the back button does not work after doing a search. Please fix that, as I love the app!

It does what its supposed to despite the very, very strange interface and navigation options. I really wish it would only detect the text files (.txt) and not things like images and mp3/mp4.. because those arent text files. It makes things hard to navigate to open. The primary criticism I have is this one, outside the lack of actual menu interface.

Bizarre interface. Back button to show menu. Searching makes the text before the found word disappear. It gives only two options, "load from beginning" which scrolls to the top, and "scroll a little before" which jumps into some weird location that makes me difficult to see the found word. Why can't it just jump to the found word and allow the user to scroll up/down from there freely, like a normal text viewer?
