Accept every way your customers want to pay.
• Credit card payments: Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and rewards cards — all credit cards at the same rate. Take credit card payments over the phone using your computer as a virtual point of sale terminal.
• Contactless payments: Let customers pay with Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay. Accept contactless cards and digital wallets with Tap to Pay.
• Gift cards: Differentiate payment with gift cards integrated into your POS system and Square Dashboard.
• Invoices: Send custom invoices straight from your POS on a mobile device or from your laptop right to your customers’ inboxes with the Square Point of Sale app.
• Transfers: Access funds after a sale with Square Checking, transfer funds to your external bank account instantly for a fee, or get transfers free in one to two business days.
• Refunds: Process refunds for payments directly from your POS system or your online Square Dashboard.
2.6% +10¢ PER TAP, DIP, SCAN, OR SWIPE. Charge $100 in a single transaction and see $97.30 in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, all credit cards at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.9% + 30¢ per invoice paid online.

Checkout
Customize your checkout with item categories, modifiers, add-ons, or special requests to keep your line moving and your customers happy.

• Use Register or wirelessly connect Terminal to any device running your Square POS. With a separate checkout screen, customers can see their itemized cart and pay quickly, all from a safe distance.

• Refund specific items from a transaction. The amount being refunded will reflect any applicable taxes and discounts for the selected item(s).

Transactions
• Accept swiped card payments when your internet service is temporarily unavailable. Offline payments are processed automatically when your device regains connectivity and will expire if not processed within 72 hours.
• Take contactless payments via Tap to Pay.
• Provide customers with digital or printed receipts.
• Let your customers split a bill or use multiple forms of tender to complete payment.

I was very hesitant about setting up square for debit and credit. I was so used to PayPal fees that it just didn't make sense to accept card payments. I'm glad I got convinced. The card reader is easy to use, and it connects easily to my phone every time. The fees are great too. I only had to tell the client that it's an extra quarter for every pack they take. They are totally ok with the extra quarter charge.

Its was expensive per transaction and expensive to instant transfer. Do keep statistics and yearly projections and growth .... great for tracking that... and it takes a lot of data filling to be easier to use on an everyday basis. Customer service would be better if they just said they don't have any customer service because they do not handle any issues. An impossible to reach somebody in person.

I've been using square with the square terminal for 3 years in my small business. I recently found the culprit of major battery drain on my fold 3. I went from losing 20% battery overnight, to only 3% after blocking background activity on this app. I'm still giving it a 5 star because I still remember the one time I contacted square support, they were absolute champions at getting my terminal working. They had to replace it but tried their absolute best to fix it right away.
