About this app

In the event of a breakdown, accident or events/objects to report, you won't need to leave your car any more to walk to the nearest emergency roadside telephone.

SOS Autoroute is a free app that connects you quickly to the nearest security station to report an emergency or an unusual event.

All calls are answered manually by a human operator who exchanges with you on the phone, determining your position and your situation on the motorway.

To optimise the intervention of the emergency services, SOS Autoroute finds your position using geolocation and transmits information about your vehicle that has been registered previously (up to 3 vehicles can be registered).

The application works on APRR, AREA, SANEF, SAPN, ATMB, SFTRF, ADELAC, A’LIENOR, CEVM, ALIAE and ATLANDES. If you are not on one of these networks, you’ll be redirected to the emergency number 112. The app will soon be updated, making it work on other motorways!

SOS Autoroute works in 5 languages: French, English, Italian, Spanish and German and there is also a video explaining how it works in sign language. This application has the Proxima Mobile label (free general-interest service recognised by the state).

You can also share your comments and suggestions on voyage.aprr.fr under Help & Contact.

Was told to use this app to call for help since French motorways are not covered by ADAC+ Neither on Android nor on Apple it was possible to call for assistance, because the app was not working correctly (multiple crucial parts did not work). My recommendation: Just call 112 right away and don't waste a single second of your life using this useless app.

The app is probably fine, it,s just a disgrace that when I needed to use it on the autoroute du Soleil the appr operator was not able to speak any English. And was very candid about it. So glad this was not a big emergency.
