If you're a Tarantino fan like me, you will watch it. As a general viewer, you'll enjoy it as an interesting film and as an update/introduction to slavery and plantations pre-civil war (we've not had anything like this in years) and also as an interesting view of ex-slave with power and taking revenge. Going back to Tarantino fans. It's a break from the usual heavy monologues we get from T. Little of the character building Didn't notice any chats about tasty beverages either ;) Several bits of T + his favorite actors playing cameos so fun to look for those. Also there was a funny KKK (pre KKK maybe) scene involving masks. Ive watched it a couple of times, but not with the same concentration previous films of his have demanded. There's a thread of humour that had me giggling, blood in similar quantities to that seen in Kill Bill 1 but Ive preferred his earlier stuff.

Hasn't Tarantino got anyone who can tell him when he's making a total dick of himself. Reminded me more than anything of the Comic Strip's 'Strike!' parody of a Hollywood version of the miner's strike. He really shouldn't try to take on serious subject matter. Don't encourage him by paying for this film or he'll end up doing his version of the holocaust.

Watched this reluctantly at first but soon won over. Its truly the best film Ive seen for a while. I couldnt watch the bloody bits but its a Tarantino film so to be expected. Even if its not something you'd normally go for, I recommend it to anyone. Atmospheric, superbly acted (grown up role for Di Caprio) and with just enough humour to balance the dark side. Superbly done.
