About this movie

BUCK, a richly textured and visually stunning film, follows Brannaman from his abusive childhood to his phenomenally successful approach to horses. A real-life "horse-whisperer", he eschews the violence of his upbringing and teaches people to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment. Buck possesses near magical abilities as he dramatically transforms horses -- and people -- with his understanding, compassion and respect. In this film, the animal-human relationship becomes a metaphor for facing the daily challenges of life. A truly American story about an unsung hero, BUCK is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.

Buck clearly shows why humans and horses are complementary to each other when the human puts in the work, gently and firmly. I was hooked from beginning to end, and even jumped out of my seat and screamed from surprise a few times. I will watch this film again and again and probably never get tired of it. I hope Buck lives a long, happy, peaceful life, surrounded by loving family, friends, and horses.

This is an amazing documentary. And Buck Brennann is an amazing man. We could ALL learn BIG time from this man and the way he is with the horses. If we could all learn to treat not only our animals like Buck treats his horses, but the people in our lives too, this would be a much better world. I hope to be just like him when I grow up!

Really awesome movie about more than horses, and horse training. I work with children with special needs and something about this movie really spoke to me. Something I can't quite put my finger on.
