About this movie

For the past two years, high school security guard Ben (Kevin Hart) has been trying to show decorated detective James (Ice Cube) that he's more than just a video game junkie who's unworthy of James' sister. When Ben finally gets accepted into the police academy, James invites him on a ride-along designed to scare the hell out him and ultimately demonstrate if Ben has what it takes to take care of his sister. But when the wild night leads them to the most notorious criminal in the city, James will find that his new partner's rapid-fire mouth is just as dangerous as the bullets speeding at it. Also starring John Leguizamo and Laurence Fishburne, Ride Along is an action-packed comedy with big thrills and even bigger laughs. (Original Title - Ride Along)

The only reason I am giving this movie a three star rating is because of Kevin Hart. The entire movie reminded me of the old day's when movies were made without the script being completely finished and the success of it being placed on a single, very popular at the time, actor. Regrettably, Ice Cube was exactly the same character he is in EVERY movie he has ever been in! While a ray of sunshine, Kevin Hart was not enough to save this unfortunate attempt at a movie. But, he was funny as hell.

Where do I start? I saw it in theaters. I literally slept halfway through the movie. Too many forced jokes, lack of plot, too much racism...it gets old even for black people. People who said this was funny, and that if you didn't like it you were a "hater" You're immature, and you don't know how to watch a good movie whenever you see one. My opinion. This movie sucked hands down.

So let me say this. I love Kevin Hart and I have a major thing for Ice Cube. What I didn't appreciate is that all the funny parts were shown on the promotional commercial. While I can appreciate this duo coming together and attempting to make something. This was poorly written, executed and felt forced. I didn't laugh once and I think everything is funny. I still love these guys tho. I just hated the movie.
