About this movie

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years -- and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) --  a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit -- is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer.  OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

An entire film written around one scene ... and that scene amputates any sense of human connection the audience has with Murphy. Please stop using the plot-bollox device that is 'grit teeth try harder' ... It is really boring for anyone who is no longer in kindergarten (intellectually speaking). I was so looking forward to this and thoroughly disappointed. He's a robot, walking about like a bloke. His legs should spin around, body armour move like a transformer and have belly blasters. Unimaginative!

Yes, it's going to get compared to the original and it's nowhere near as good. The bigger problem is that, even if you ignore the original, the film is just boring. The plot is unimaginative and you can't feel anything for the characters. I'd heard some reviews so I hadn't set my expectations high, but it still failed to reach them.

Better special fix, but poorer storyline. Uncalled for remake of classic original. The original enjoys a special place in my affections, this is like cheap jewellery that will turn green. A great opportunity wasted to advance the storyline. Bring back the ED 209. You have be good to replace Paul Weller. Wait 'til comes on TV. Seems more like an extended advert for a video game. Save your money!!
