About this movie

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a funny, action packed joyride. This is definitely one of the funniest Marvel movie for it's time and is the best CGI I have seen in a Marvel movie and the best I've seen in long time. The better thing about this film is that it hadn't got any connection with the MCU when it came out so even if you haven't seen any other MCU films you won't find this film confusing. However this film could of been better if it cut down on the swearing as then it could of been much more of a family movie, also, the thing I liked about this movie is that there wasn't gore and me being a person who fells uncomfortable round gore, I was able to enjoy the movie without shuddering or getting goosebumps. Also the people at Marvel chose the right people to play the characters, Chris Pratt as Star Lord was funny and silly, just what a Marvel movie needs and Vin Diesel yet again shows his brilliant vocal skills. Overall GotG was a action packed joyride that luckily didn't go over the top, the humour was just right, the action was intense and the performances were the best there could of been and whenever John C Reilly's character came out and spoke, all I could think of and see was Wreck-it Ralph.

I'd like to start off my pseudo review by saying GoTG is the best marvel movie to date and possibly my favourite superhero movie of all time (it's between this and The Dark Knight). The movie has you hooked from the very start and the chemistry between all of the characters (not just the protagonists) is amazing. GoTG is an emotional roller coaster and one that I enjoyed very much. The fantastic visuals and the extremely likeable characters are complemented with a soundtrack that is out of this world. It has definitely given me a deeper appreciation of music from a generation before my time. GoTG is a movie I have watched many times over and will wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

Sometimes films are made that I can watch without rolling my eyes and tutting or feeling embarrassed to be watching. This was one of them unfortunately. The ripped off tarentino soundtrack didn't help along with the poor general direction this generic mess of a film was going. I'm a huge movie fan and unfortunately there seems to be big budget rubbish coming out every year whole films held up by visual effects poor story lines etc example x men films are the same movie made multiple times. WTF boring tripe
