I had some ideas about what was going on from the first 20 minutes, however 45 minutes of the film was very slow, character building and back story. Once past the half way mark I was quite intrigued as things were getting good and some of my hunches were being confirmed. Ultimately however, the last half of the film seemed very rushed and the ending left a lot of room for improvement. Overall It was well presented and acted and kept me watching until the end but left me wanting a bit more. Personally I wanted to see the cycle broken and thought it would have given the story a perfect resolution.

Go into this film without reading another review. Because with all due respect to what may be other people's excellent reviews, they may ruin the story by dropping hints to what is to come. So stop here, and watch the film. Don't read up on it, don't look at the reviews, don't look at the synopsis. Just know that here is a very clever film, one that keeps you thinking, especially after the midway point. And one that deserved a full cinema release. Watch and enjoy.

What the, no, my brain is completely mashed. What a great film though if you've not watched it. No spoilers but I pegged the villain after 5 minutes but had absolutely no idea how that tied with the rest of the story. I'd suggest you get yourself a drink lined up for the ending. To mash together my scifi memes, I'm actually wearing my doctor who "wibbly, wobbly, timey, wimey" t-shirt as I watched the film. I need a drink.
