About this movie

Following the classic Marvel mythology, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together with other mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known.

Flawed, but much less stilted and cringey than Singer's first halfhearted attempts at making Xmen movies. He's not much of a director but he's improved a skosh and everyone involved seems to be going at it with gusto to try and make it work. Mostly, they succeed, aided by a decent enough script and soundtrack.

This has a great storyline and characror lineup until you get to the last 20 minutes... There are so many continuity errors in this last part which are SO simple to spot (I noticed them in the cinema) - as a X-Men fan these were painful to watch... (SPOILERZ - he shouldn't be in the wheelchair at the end - Xavier and Magneto are friends in X-Men3 and yet he leaves him for dead here - the blue chick would not abandon her own Brother for dead etc.)

Great movie. The action was amazing and Charles Xavier was outstanding. It was a little cringey at times but that made it better. I felt bad for Magneto but at least he got his revenge when he killed the bad guy. Emma Frost was surprisingly pretty cool in this movie and Mystique was fab.
