Blue Ruin is a excellent violent anti-violence, anti-revenge revenge movie about our drifter hero Dwight who returns back home to his hometown to carry out a plan full of destructive revenge, and it is destructive as it builds up to the ending. The movie does things differently with its revenge story, as Dwight isn't a professional gunman and is out of his league, seeing him suffer badly. The gore is powerful hitting, especially for one scene.

There's no shortage of revenge thrillers out there and I've seen a lot of them so it's rare to find one that surprises. This is one of them. Most films in this genre tend to be dreary affairs but Blue Ruin is energetic, intense, thrilling, and funny in equal measure but the film's anti-violence message isn't lost either.

Story of a man who is consumed with wanting revenge. This one stays with you, and I really liked it. If you like this, I suggest checking out "Hide your smiling faces"
