About this movie

It is the 1990s, the tape-cassette is dying, CDs will soon be the rage and a regular arranged marriage will turn out to be a perfect mismatch. Prem (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a shy music buff who runs a tape recording shop in Haridwar. Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar) likes to dance to the band tunes at her own wedding. He has nightmares about drawing a blank at his English exam. She is about to carve a niche for herself as a teacher.

But now, they are married and they are supposed to spend a lifetime together - and he is still trying to find balance on their scooter ride together. From overcoming his fear of the English language to dealing with an overbearing father, he discovers that his oversized wife, who he thought was a spanner in his spool, will actually lead him to something quite cool.

YRF is known to create big budget movies with foreign location defo on their card. This is so not one of those YRF and thats what made me watch the movie. Simple narration, great acting, superb storyline made DLKH a hit and fav of mine - but must say, the icing on the cake was "Kumar Sanu" himself in the movie and ofcourse we got to hear his voice all over again.

Prem a Young zero size lad marries Sandhya an oversized woman..and how he hates his married life..and how he realizes the value of Sandhya forms the crux of the story..Ayushmann khuranna is nice as a man who gulps water seeing slim trim woman is perfect...Bhumi pednakar who allows Prem to do so is beautifully crafted and acted..her helplessness and longing for love from her husband is extremely magnificent..Direction, editing and songs and the locales of 90s is great..go watch it with your wife and know her importance...

Very simple movie with a simple star cast who have done really well. It hits the right notes of bringing a valid point around marriage in our middle class society. Light comedy topped up with a few cool one-liners to tickle your funny bone. A must watch, I'd say.
