Superstar Rajinikanth, ace director Shankar and music wizard A. R. Rahman team up in this science fiction techno-thriller, 'Enthiran' is said to be the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema. Co-starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a tale of Robo romance, featuring state-of-the-art special effects, this tale of a man-machine was simultaneously released in other languages. Rajnikanth performs a dual role, playing both the scientist Dr. Vaseegaran and the humanoid robot he creates, named Chitti, which looks exactly like its creator. Despite his humanoid appearance, Chitti has superhuman strength, speed and intelligence. And when Dr. Vaseegaran upgrades Chitti's software he is able to comprehend and stimulate human emotions. The plan backfires as robot falls in love with the scientist's fiancée. Meanwhile, Dr. Bohra the rival scientist tries hard to get control of Chitti and before he gets away with it, Dr. Vaseegaran will have to fight and prevent his super-powered creation falling into the wrong hands.
