About this movie

A spoof of The Hunger Games, A young girl living in the poorest district of a future society is picked for the Starving Games, a competition where teens must fight in a brutal death match. The newest spoof by Friedberg and Seltzer with hilarious pop culture and film shout outs!

I'm giving 1 star, not because I love hunger games, but because it's a horrible movie in it's own. Don't bother with it unless you enjoy way too much foul language with crummy punch lines, gross displays of gouging, and inappropriate scenes with teens and young people. Basically this movie can't stand on it's own unless the hunger games exists, since it lacks a good plot, characters, and supporting details.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Nothing...NOTHING is salvageable in this picture! For those of you who are familiar with Friedberg-Seltzer's work, you know what to expect here: bad story, bad acting, abysmal humor, some perhaps racist, and the furthering of plunging a once graceful genre into the abyss. However, there is a slight difference here, and its kind of hard to describe. The feeling of "The Starving Games" differs from that of the rest of their films; it feels amateur, like a high school project (though those would still be higher quality). Is this a result of a lesser budget? I'm not sure, but it makes an already abominable movie all the more miserable. Bur perhaps the worst thing about this (and I know people have mentioned this before) is that there are aspiring film makers out there, that know the craft, that are being ignored while this... this TRAVESTY was allowed to be green lighted. I've seen some bad movies. Some are good because they are bad; "so bad they're good" if you will. This is so pretentious, so poorly made, so hateful, that even that is something far beyond what it deserves. My nomination for a spot in the bottom 20 movies ever.

I laughed at 1 or 2 parts, but it's a terrible storyline. I'm probably 1 of the thousands of biggest fans of the hunger games, I read the books like 25 times each. Literally, I read fast, but understand everything still. I even have all the songs. And I hate anyone that makes fun of the hunger games, because it's my 2nd favorite. My 1st is divergent, but I'm defently the biggest fan. I read the books more than the hunger games, fan music, real music, phone backround, watched the movies a bunch of times.
