About this movie

The names Audrey Hepburn and Holly Golightly have become synonymous since this dazzling romantic comedy was translated to the screen from Truman Capote's best-selling novella. Holly is a deliciously eccentric New York City playgirl determined to marry a Brazilian millionaire. George Peppard plays her next-door neighbour, a writer who is "sponsored" by a wealthy Patricia Neal. Guessing who's the right man for Holly is easy. Seeing just how that romance blossoms is one of the enduring delights of this gem-like treat set to Henry Mancini's Oscar®-winning score and the Oscar®-winning Mancini-Johnny Mercer song "Moon River."

I don't understand the Hype of this Movie, I found it confusing and dragged on and on. I was wanting to see it forever and now I wish I would have never waisted my time.

First, let's get this straight. It's George Peppard. Peppard. Anyway, this is one of those "classics" I sat down to see what was so classic about it and loved it. Hepburn is delightful, Peppard is dashing, and this movie is right out of the golden age of elegance in film-making.

An excellent film populated with a cast of colourful characters who live on in memory long past the end. Of this there is no doubt: Audrey Hepburn is superb! The story is timeless and as the title (subtlety) suggests, speaks to our hidden human desire for change; the yen to free ourselves from a quotidian existence where we wake right on time for Breakfast at Tiffany's. Big up for the film's score!
