About this movie

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.  As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.

I barely ever go out of my way to write reviews, and enjoy almost any movie. However I can't comprehend how this film has got a single positive review, let alone a 4.2 rating. Whilst watching it I could literally feel my brain cells dying off. A pair of rappers have the main roles, need I say more (crap rappers at that). Truly, seriously woeful. The single worst film I have ever seen. And what makes it more annoying is that the idea of human consciousness in a robot body is an interesting one.

Could have been so good but felt like a cheap rip off of Short Circuit/Short Circuit 2 with a little Robocop thrown in but with unknown, and bad, rappers as 'actors'. Chappie was the only good actor in this excuse for a film.

Great concept of a movie but sadly it felt like the roles have switched in this movie. If judging by the acting all the humans were robots and chappie was the best acting character of them all. Real shame because the trailer for it looked very promising. I decided to stop watching half way through because I could not bear another minute of it.
