About this movie

Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the classic Sleeping Beauty and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king's newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

First I would have loved to c a remake of the classic sleeping beauty but that just wasn't what I got. Some stories should remain true to the original but this was just garbage to make the lead villain into a misunderstood person was such a drastic change y can't some people just be evil instead of having a terrible back story that's suppose to justify her change. I loved the original story and would have rather paid to c that instead of this lack luster film. Don't waste your money.

They ruined one of the best Disney villains. Anyone who plays Kingdom Hearts would probably agree. Saying that she cursed Aurora because the king raped her and stole her wings makes her less of a frightening villain. The original Maleficent cursed Aurora because she wasn't invited to the castle. A villian who curses someone for something so ridiculous is more frightening than one that is looking for revenge. You don't know what she will be offended by. The original Maleficent was unpredictable.

This movie sends a message of men are evil and women may seem evil but are only reacting to what the evil men did. So women are simply misunderstood & hurt frail beings. Even when she tries to harm or kill a child of someone who wronged her. If the man tries to protect his child & capture the woman he is bad for doing it. They even made it so the child sees it all as dad's fault, & sides with the woman trying to harm her. She's still evil or she'd attack the guy instead of an innocent child! Wake up!
