About this movie

Fasten your garter belt and come up to the lab and see what's on the slab! It's The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a screamingly funny, sinfully twisted salute to sci-fi, horror, B-movies and rock music, all rolled into one deliciously decadent morsel. The madcap, musical mayhem begins when rain-soaked Brad and Janet take refuge in the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite mad scientist from outer space who is about to unveil his greatest creation - and have a bit of fun with his reluctant guests! Join Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon and rock star Meat Loaf in the most popular cult classic of all time.

I first watched TRHPS about 25 years ago, at that point it had fringe cult/weirdo status. I was told it was a send up...Being a straight man, I thought I was the one being sent up when I was told to watch it. I watched it -with reservations- and found the songs funny, the acting camp but in a strange way, infectiously comical. Over the years I have watched it a few times, not wanting to not have a copy of it. Yes it's a bit old hat, yes it looks dated but weirdly, this dated look only adds to the overall feel. If you're a bit off the wall with your taste...I love Tarantino, so off the wall fits me nicely...and you watch this for the first/thousandth time without seeing it as just a few guys dressed up in womens clothing and thinking this is a gay/gay leaning film, then you'll see its just an outlandish film which is fun. Another thing you'll find, as I did, most people seem to know the songs and more about it, even those who'll not tell you they have seen it !

Loved it! Definitely one of my favourite movies. The story and soundtrack will find a place in your heart if you have a soft spot for vintage rock n' roll.
