About this movie

Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson continues his Middle-Earth saga that follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) who's swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. In the company of thirteen dwarves and the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo enters the Lonely Mountain in possession of Gollum's "precious" ring and his keen blade, Sting. With an all-star cast, including many acclaimed actors from The Lord of the Rings (such as Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis and more), and the effects wizardry of Jackson's award-winning Weta Workshop, Tolkien's epic story comes to life as never before imagined. The Extended Edition film is 25 minutes longer with new and extended scenes, not seen in the theatrical release.

I've seen here, as well as multiple other comment sites and "reviews", that The Hobbit movies don't follow the book correctly. Many people would do well to visit www.glyphweb.com/arda. Read the movie goer guides. I think you'll be surprised how plausible the movie really are. Do every one a favor and read and learn. Tolkien created a rich, full world. It's almost impossible to capture that in film. Books can take you places movies never dreamed of. Relax and enjoy a wonderful rendition of a great story!

I always love the extended versions of movies. This tells and fills in gaps from the first version and makes the movie more complete and the extra footage is Awesome. By the way Google fixed the movie and it doesn't show the "Hobbit" no more. Thanks Google...I knew you would correct the problem. I refused to get a refund unlike others.

A epic masterpiece is what I say. But Azog's story is changed as Daín killed Azog in Jr.r.'s book, as well as Azog being a goblin of moria, and Bolg (suprisingly Azog's son) arrived too early, and orcs where mentioned in the book, but never in it. But still out of all the movies this is my favorite.
