About this movie

Relive all the fun, laughter, and irresistible music of SISTER ACT -- the inspired comedy hit that packed pews everywhere! Whoopi Goldberg stars as a sassy, low-rent lounge singer forced to hide out from the mob in the last place on earth anyone would look for her -- a convent. While she's there, her irreverent behavior attracts a flock of faithful followers and turns the nuns' tone-deaf choir into a soulful chorus of swingin', singin' sisters. But when the group earns rave reviews, her sudden celebrity jeopardizes her hidden identity. Harvey Keitel and Kathy Najimy join a heavenly cast in this habit-forming comedy bursting with '60s Motown hits.

I love this delightfully entertaining film about a lounge singer who joins a nunnery and revitalizes the community with her wittiness and charm while outwitting her ex-boyfriend. The characters are engaging and hilarious and the songs are catchy as well. This movie literally makes you want to shout and jump for joy with its catchy musical numbers!

This is now a classic. My wife and I enjoy watching Sister Act. We always put it in when we want to watch something uplifting. We are happy that the Bishop and the Pope were open enough to this new style of music that came into the convent by using modern music with the words changed appropriately to match the Catholic Church setting. It is very hilarious, and don't be misled, it does not push religion at all.

I remember when this move came out. I'm 27 now and I still watch and love it til this day. One of my true favorite movies. Very much a classic movie. And the sequel is just that much better. Watching the second one as I type.
