I can only speak to Straight Outta Compton. I'm a bit older than the avg. rap fan. OK, MUCH older. This portrayal of the USA's newest music genre's rise on the west coast is thrilling, even inspiring, It's the story of young street talent fighting to become known locally, then nationally. But there's no sugar coating - Some flop. Some die of violence. From gangs, cops, AIDS. See 'The Art of Rap' for the long list of now-dead artists. A must-see for all who follow music and culture.

Straight Otta Compton illustrates the beginnings of West Coast Rap Music. Drawn out of protest over the unfair treatment by the police. I saw Easy E RIP, Ice Cube, Terminator X, Arabian Prince, MC Ren and Dr. Dre. The worlds most dangerous Rap Group. NWA. Tupac, Suge Knight, 50 Cent, Eminem and Snoop. The movie was real, dynamic and moving. The music was jumping. Highly recommended.

2 fantastic films that tell 2 very different "coming of age" stories. (beat description I can give) A must watch on both. Entertaining. Touching. And funny - both so well Directed and cast.
